Welcome
I’m a Senior BACP Accredited Counsellor/ Psychotherapist, accredited since 1993, with 30 years experience in private practice, the NHS and the university sector.
Therapy offers a safe and confidential space to explore your feelings and make sense of difficulties in your life.
At certain times we can lose our sense of direction or feel caught in patterns we don’t fully understand. You may appear to be coping outwardly but inside feel anxious, low, overwhelmed or unable to cope. Or you may be struggling with patterns of coping that once protected you, for example avoiding feelings, withdrawing, or turning to addictive and obsessive behaviours.
It can also feel isolating, or as though no one fully understands what you’re going through. Working in therapy can help you slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface — so that change can begin from within.
About me
My work has a psychodynamic base and is integrative and flexible, drawing on relational and CBT-informed approaches to support both insight and practical change. I offer both short and long-term therapy, depending on your needs and what feels most helpful for you at this point in your life.
Alongside private practice, I’ve worked extensively in the NHS and university sector, supporting people at different stages of life and across a wide range of issues — including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and the challenges of midlife and other life changes.
Who I work with
You may be navigating loss, identity, or a sense of disconnection that’s hard to put into words. Even if it feels difficult to ask for help, therapy can offer space to explore yourself more deeply and understand your emotions and relationships with greater clarity.
I’ve supported hundreds of individuals, including those living with anxiety and depression, ADHD and neurodiversity, complex PTSD, identity and relational difficulties, life transitions, addictions and work-related stress.
I work inclusively with people of all genders, sexualities and backgrounds, and offer an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients. My practice is welcoming of diversity in identity, culture and relationships.
How therapy can help
Therapy helps by creating a space where genuine change can unfold. Over time, it can help you gain a clearer sense of who you are, feel less driven by old or confusing pressures, and feel more able to manage the challenges and opportunities of life, with all its complexities and uncertainties.
By developing greater awareness of underlying patterns and finding practical ways of responding differently, you can begin to live with more freedom, depth and connection – both with yourself and with others.
